At Hastings Direct we offer a three-year Finance Graduate programme based at our Head Office in Bexhill. The programme gives our graduates an excellent chance to experience working in four different finance teams, as well as all the support they need in order to gain an ACCA qualification.
Our graduates are also exposed to our full range of finance operations, including Financial Accounts, Financial Reporting, Shared Services, Management Reporting & Planning, Tax and Financial Modelling. By the end of the programme, we aim to equip our graduates with the skills, tools and experience to specialise in one of the four areas they have worked in.
Hear from Chris, one of our graduates who joined us last year on the Finance Graduate programme:
What do you enjoy most about your role and the company?
My favourite part of my role is that no two days are the same, every day, week, month, things have changed and the work we do changes with that. It’s really exciting to come to a fresh day with new tasks and goals and objectives.
What are you working on at the moment?
At present I am working on board reporting. I speak to different teams in the business to understand their performance to be able to show the board how each area is performing, along with any challenges or opportunities they see moving forward from all areas of the business. It’s really great that I get to learn and see how the company is doing as a whole.
How has being part of the Finance team stretched you professionally?
It has made me come out of my comfort zone in a protected and supported environment, to learn and apply new techniques and skills from Excel and data to presentation and delivery.
What do you find most exciting about Finance?
The most exciting thing is learning and applying something new, as well as each day being different.
