I have worked at Hastings Direct for nearly three years and in February 2017 I had my little boy.

Throughout my maternity leave my Team Leader and I kept in close contact so I could keep up to speed with the team and what was going on in the business.  ‘Keep in touch’ days are also offered to people on maternity leave and this meant I was able to come into the office, attend team meetings and stay in touch with my friends and colleagues. All of this helped me return to my role feeling informed and up-to-date with what was going on at work.

Hastings Direct were really supportive when I returned and moved from full-time to part-time shifts. The new shifts worked around my family really well and I now feel that I have a great work/- life balance.  I have valuable time with my son and I don’t feel as though I am constantly at work which is important to me as I don’t want to miss out on seeing him grow up.

I love the flexibility Hastings Direct part-time hours offer me. The support Hastings Direct has given me throughout my journey of becoming a mum has made being a working mum a lot easier for me as well as my family.
