I joined Hastings Direct as a Team Leader in January 2018 in the New Business department at our office in Leicester, and I can honestly say it has been an amazing experience so far.
From the moment I walked in on my first day, I instantly felt at home. I was welcomed into my new team by my Leader and fellow Team Leaders and was made to feel part of the family immediately.
The day in the life of a Team Leader at Hastings Direct is never the same and I love this. The most important aspect of my job is to ensure my team is engaged and motivated to deliver great service to our customers. Alongside this I work closely with them coaching and developing them in their roles as call centre representatives. I have also had the opportunity to get involved with various projects which has helped me to develop my communication and networking skills and raise my profile within the business. Hastings Direct offers many opportunities to develop as a leader and I have taken advantage of this by attending several leadership courses, learning new techniques which I have implemented in my role.
One thing that stands out for me is how much Hastings Direct looks after their colleagues and the recognition for great performance and attitude. In my second month, we won Team of the month and then we also won Best Team at the annual colleague awards event. One of my team also won Colleague of the month and Outstanding Contribution to the company.
Overall, Hastings Direct is a fantastic place to work and I look forward to developing myself as a leader and progressing within the business.
The shifts in customer service teams are quite colleague friendly. There is free tea and coffee in the call centre, and a subsidised Costa Coffee and canteen. There are lots of incentives to earn more, and a decent social life.
It has a really positive environment with everyone who works there being very helpful. The managers really do go out of their way to assist you. There are a lot of benefits and rewards at Hastings Direct which if you are doing well are quite easy to achieve.
There is a well-rounded approach to the wellbeing of all colleagues, including an inclusive approach to wellbeing activities. Hastings Direct aims to roundly develop colleagues and set them up for future careers within the company.
There is a wonderful work environment, with a strong sense of team work which purveys throughout the business. And there is a sense of friendly competition which works to heighten this.
