After I left college, I wanted to join a company that could offer me career opportunities, so I joined Hastings Direct in 2015.
I started my journey as a Claims Customer Service Representative. I received great induction training and received ongoing support from my team, enabling me to register claims for policy holders following a road traffic accident. Before long, I was confident in doing this and learnt how to deal with more complex claims.
Life in customer claims is fast paced and no two days are ever the same! We receive a large number of calls in our department with ranging levels of complexity which keep you on your toes and keeps the day exciting!
What attracted me to Hastings Direct were the opportunities for development and the strong emphasis on supporting colleagues. My leader has supported my desire to develop my career with a structured progression plan and I have worked alongside a variety of people who encourage a ‘family atmosphere’ where you always feel part of a team.
I have had opportunities to work in a variety of roles including a Claims Coach and Team Leader. Recently I have been involved in a number of initiatives including; helping create and lead our new online claims facility for customers and leading the expansion of claims case handlers in our Leicester office. I have now relocated to Leicester, from Bexhill to lead one our claims teams– something I never imagined I would have had the chance to do!
