Crystal joined us in September 2021 in our New Business department. Before then, she had worked in lots of different roles including in Credit Control and Debt Recovery, Sales, Claims – everything from handling large accounts to a local Fish & Chip shop.
Now as one of our Customer Representatives, she tells us about what she loves about her role at Hastings Direct and her advice on joining.
A typical day at Hastings Direct for me: I grab all my stuff from my locker and set my stall up ready to take my day’s calls. I enjoy helping customers sort out their problems and setting up policies online and I’m passionate about providing a good customer journey. Also, I love the interaction with my colleagues, the way we boost and support each other – it makes a big difference to my day!
Every day is a learning day as there’s always something new and so much to do and it’s wonderful how Hastings look after their staff. I like the way experienced staff do the training and mentoring, and offer encouragement, support and understanding, to really bring the best out of each individual member of staff.
I would tell them Hastings is a great place to work for because of the consideration given to staff and all the benefits including the health care and pension. There are benefits I never had in some of my other roles - even the free fresh fruit every day!
