They say ‘find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life’, at Hastings Direct, I have found that job!
I’ve worked at Hastings Direct for over four and a half years. I joined the business as a Customer Service Team Leader in June 2015, a month or so after Hastings Direct opened an office in Leicester. In October 2018, I was offered the role of Contact Centre Leader in Customer Service, following Team Leader roles in both, Renewals and Academy.
On my first day in the Leicester office, there was an empty call centre with only 22 colleagues on site and now we are over 1000. Every day I walk into work and think over my journey, I am so proud to have been part of what Hastings Direct in Leicester has become. I also consider myself very lucky to work in such an amazing environment with amazing colleagues.
As a Contact Centre Leader in Leicester, no day is the same and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m not sure there is another role out there where I would leave work every day having learnt something new. Yes, every day has its challenges but that’s what helps me and my team learn and try our best to improve whatever is thrown at us. In my role I am able to support and develop colleagues and have been privileged to watch many of them move forward in their careers with Hastings Direct.
Working within the local community has always been a passion. To find a company that shares the same passion as me makes working at Hastings Direct even better. I have spent the last four and a half years working with local schools and students on the mentor programme, ‘Be the Change’. The work that Hastings Direct do in the community makes me proud to work for the company.
