Not all of our teams operate from all of our offices. Below you can see the offices in which these teams are based.

Meet some of the team

Jean-Raphael, In-House Lawyer

Working in the Hastings legal team has been a really positive experience for me. I found the team to be extremely approachable, knowledgeable and always willing to share expertise. This was especially good for me when I first joined as a junior lawyer back in 2023. With Hastings, as a company, I've noticed there's always been a strong focus on personal development, and I'm really glad to see that this is reflected in the legal team's own culture too. For anyone considering a role here, I'd encourage you to take a leap - it's a great environment to learn, grow and make a genuine contribution to the business!

Charlotte, Senior Assistant Company Secretary

I joined the Hastings Company Secretariat team in December 2023. My background includes corporate governance experience within the insurance sector, as well as in private and listed company environments across a range of sectors, together with experience at the Financial Ombudsman Service focused on customercentred case handling in a regulated setting. I studied Classics before completing a law conversion, and my academic and professional experience has shaped a career centred on governance, company law and supporting effective decision making.

Adele, In-House Lawyer

My career journey began as a barrister, where I practiced family and civil law and then in the charity sector, where I worked as an in-house lawyer for 14 years. I joined Hastings in October 2018, the year of the GDPR! Joining Hastings as an In-House Lawyer has provided me with a unique opportunity to collaborate with teams across the entire organisation—including underwriting, retail, commercial, and claims. The role includes drafting and negotiating contracts with suppliers, providing legal advice and support on a wide range of topics, and participation in various projects.

One of the aspects I appreciate most is how varied and interesting the work is. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn, especially as Hastings continues to grow and evolve. The collaborative spirit among colleagues here is truly genuine, and from my very first day, I felt welcomed as part of the ‘Hastings family’. It’s a place where professional growth is encouraged, and where teamwork makes a real difference.

Natalie, Deputy Company Secretary

My journey into the World of CoSec started as a Secretary to a Company Secretary and it was from then that I realised this was the career for me! I therefore enrolled at university part-time and attended evening classes whilst working which culminated in my obtaining an MSc in Corporate Governance.

My role as Deputy Company Secretary allows me to play a key part in the effective and efficient running of the Group Secretariat whilst supporting and deputising for the Company Secretary. Working at Hastings has been a rewarding experience for me. From the outset I was welcomed into a team that thrives on collaboration and knowledge-sharing, and it’s clear that everyone here is genuinely invested in each other’s success.

The fast-paced and innovative environment means there’s never a dull moment; every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn, and I find myself inspired by the 4C’s culture that is truly woven into the fabric of Hastings. The supportive culture has made it easy to contribute ideas, and it’s been great to see how teamwork really does make a difference to our everyday operations.
