Founded in 1996 in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, we’re an agile, data and digitally focused general insurance provider to the UK market, offering a full range of car, van, bike and home insurance products.

It’s our attitude and the way we run our business that makes us different. Our data driven, digitally-focused business model enables us to remain agile, price effectively and to deliver refreshingly straightforward service and products for customers. All of our actions are based on our 4Cs way of doing things. We focus on getting it right for our colleagues, customers, company and community. We try to minimise, where possible, our impact on the environment, making sure that what we do reflects our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility. We were delighted to be certified CarbonNeutral® in November 2020, having calculated and off-set all climate-damaging emissions associated with the operation of our business.

It’s our belief that ethical conduct is an integral component of running a business successfully and it is an expectation we have of both our colleagues and our suppliers.

We air our first TV advert.


Management buy out.


Advantage Insurance Company joins the Hastings Group.


One million customers.


Goldman Sachs invest in the Hastings Group.


Customers exceed two million.


Hastings becomes a PLC.


We open our Leicester office.


RMI invests in Hastings PLC.
