We ensure that our offices in Bexhill-on-Sea, Leicester and London offer our colleagues a fully operational, clean, safe and healthy working environment. We look after everything from keeping the grounds looking good and the desks clean, to managing health and safety and delivering a range of property improvement initiatives. We also have an ongoing strategy to improve and maintain the Hastings Directs offices.
Whether it’s the replacement of lifts, the re-wiring of a building or the renewal of an electrical infrastructure, there is always a new challenge to rise to. There are several different areas within the department, so we employ a range of specialists who have the combined skills and expertise it takes to keep our buildings up to scratch. We provide detailed health and safety compliance advice to the rest of the department. This includes advice on process, procedure and compliance, as well as continuously monitoring, reviewing and auditing the effectiveness of our service.
Our key focus is on ensuring our offices offer a clean and healthy working environment. Our security and fire team are focused on building a safe and secure environment for colleagues and visitors across all of our sites. We are responsible for the design and strategic space planning of all Hastings Direct premises and maintaining a safe and compliant working environment. Everything from managing the deployment of furniture, fixtures and equipment to delivering a flexible and dynamic workspace, allowing the business to flex and grow effectively.

Until I joined Hastings Direct, I had been a long-distance commuter. However, it wasn’t just the fact they were a local, large company that was doing well in their market that attracted me. They also offered me a role that was perfectly suited to my commercial design and architectural background.Property services is a fun, collaborative, reactive and fast-moving department that works closely with many different departments in the company, across all sites. That means my work schedule tends to be completely different each week, working on lots of exciting projects and looking at ways of improving the buildings and office environments. There’s always a new challenge to tackle.
