Property Services at Hastings Direct

We ensure that our offices in Bexhill-on-Sea, Leicester and London offer our colleagues a fully operational, clean, safe and healthy working environment. We look after everything from keeping the grounds looking good and the desks clean, to managing health and safety and delivering a range of property improvement initiatives. We also have an ongoing strategy to improve and maintain the Hastings Directs offices.

Whether it’s the replacement of lifts, the re-wiring of a building or the renewal of an electrical infrastructure, there is always a new challenge to rise to. There are several different areas within the department, so we employ a range of specialists who have the combined skills and expertise it takes to keep our buildings up to scratch. So, if you’re diligent, a team player, hard-working and great at customer service, Property Services at Hastings Direct could be the place for you.

Where our teams are based

Not all of our teams operate from all of our offices. Below you can see the offices in which these teams are based.

Corey, Senior Property Services Manager

I’ve been part of HD since 2002, and in that time I’ve seen our workplaces evolve dramatically as colleague and customer needs continue to change. My career here began with the opportunity to bring my commercial interiors and design background into a role that has grown alongside the business.

Today, as Senior Property Services Manager, I lead the team responsible for delivering safe, high‑quality and inspiring workplace environments across all our sites. Property Services is a collaborative, fast‑paced and colleague‑focused function that supports everything from day‑to‑day operations to major refurbishments, long‑term office strategy and workplace experience.

No two weeks are the same. One day I may be focused on long‑term property planning, and the next supporting events, operational improvements or H&S initiatives. I enjoy the variety, the problem‑solving and the chance to continually enhance our environments. There’s always a new challenge and that’s what makes the role so rewarding.

Elle, Delivery Manager

I’ve been with Hastings Direct since 2019, working across several departments including Policy Review, Complaints, and leading a Forbearance & Bereavement team and now settling into Property Services. As Delivery Manager, I lead the Administration Team and oversee our Computer‑Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, streamline governance and documentation, supervise project delivery, and support communication between Property Services, the wider business, and colleagues.

In my day‑to‑day role, I focus on keeping our processes clear and well‑documented, carrying out audits to check how we’re operating in practice, and identifying opportunities to streamline how we work. I’m passionate about driving continuous improvement and helping our team operate as effectively and transparently as possible.

Greg, Property Manager – Managed Services

Having been at Hastings for almost six years now, I’ve gone from starting out as a Workplace Experience Manager during the height of COVID‑19 to now Facilities Manager, managing our offices across London, Leicester, Belfast and Cardiff. It’s been a journey that’s taught me how to adapt quickly, stay calm when things change at the last minute, and deal with emergencies in a practical, solutions‑focused way.

What I enjoy most is how unpredictable and varied the role is, the goalposts are always moving, and no two days ever look the same. One day I might be organising events or hospitality, and the next I’m in London working alongside the IT team on a project to upgrade spaces to improve our colleague’s experience. That mix of people, places and challenges keeps me motivated and makes the job genuinely exciting.

Jacob, Front of House Operative

I joined Hastings Direct in late 2021, for the role of Night Shift Security, Property Services. I’ve worked in Security since 2015, from retail to NHS sites. Hastings Direct offered me a role that suited my knowledge, capabilities, and out-of-work life perfectly, which made joining the team that much easier.

My role within Property Services is straightforward and consistent; I ensure the building is safe and secure by monitoring systems and physically patrolling the building throughout the night and working on tasks that can only be completed out of office hours. It can be challenging at times, however, when I see the results of mine and others hard work come to fruition, it makes it worthwhile. Our team in Property Services makes completing any job easy and achievable. I know I can rely on everyone around me, to support and work well together - and have plenty of fun along the way.
