An inclusive business

We encourage our people to be themselves in the workplace, because we respect diversity of thinking and know different perspectives strengthen the way we work. We regularly monitor the demographic and diversity of our colleagues at all levels. And our recruitment process is designed to attract and retain the best people from every background by celebrating differences and avoiding discrimination.

So, when you apply to work for us, you’ll find the recruitment and selection process reflects our values and beliefs. This means we’ll treat you with respect and dignity, bring out the best in you and allow you to be yourself. You’ll find it’s an approach that continues throughout your career with us.

In recognition of this, we were placed at no.29 in the 2021-22 Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers league table – the annual list produced by Inclusive Companies, an organisation that helps employers foster an inclusive environment that recognises and values the differences of each employee.

Embracing our cultural diversity

Our colleagues come from a range of different backgrounds and have their own individual needs. So, we do everything we can to embrace and celebrate their diversity and make sure our workplace is the right fit for them.

For example, join us and you’ll find we celebrate a range of religious festivals. Our multi faith prayer rooms are home to different congregations and prayer times.

Our on-site restaurants also cater for a variety of dietary needs, including halal, vegan and vegetarian options. We also offer a number of flexible working options to suit your lifestyle.

Supporting working parents

We recognise that, as a working parent, you need the flexibility to balance your work and family life. That’s why we introduced our monthly Family Friendly Workshops in 2018. In the first year, these workshops helped over 50 colleagues to learn more about our policies to support them while they’re expecting their new addition to their family and as working parents.

For example, our Return To Work Incentive, which helps returning parents to move back into work, recognises that usual work patterns may not be right for them. By offering flexible working, we help new parents to balance work and home life. In return, our business benefits from great colleagues and diverse teams. We continue to support working parents in building the career they want, so they don’t miss out due to family needs. Our offer to working parents is something we continue to review and look to improve.

Our commitment to our colleagues

"We encourage our people to be themselves, because we believe diversity of thinking and different perspectives strengthen the way we work."
